Repeal of estate taxes, compromises and keeping the stepped-up basis... lots of discussion going on about these topics in Congress. What the landscape will be like for federal estate taxes after 2010 has yet to be settled. For some interesting commentary to keep you up to date on these issues, read Clark Allison's excellent post on this topic. Joel Schoenmeyer also weighed in on this issue not too long ago.
